Cerf later recalled, "Rockwell was sitting at my desk facing Donald, and we were talking about doing a few books on the side, when suddenly I got an inspiration and said, 'I've got the name for our publishing house. We just said we were go-ing to publish a few books on the side at random. Let's call it Random House.' Donald liked the idea, and Rockwell Kent said, 'That's a great name. I'll draw your trademark.' Kindle version of our illustrated travel guide will take you to Copenhagen the capital of Denmark. This "friendly old girl of a town" is big enough to be a metropolis with shopping, culture and nightlife par excellence, yet still small enough to be intimate, safe and easy to navigate. Overlooking the Øresund strait with Sweden just minutes away, it is a cultural and geographic link between mainland Europe and Scandinavia. This is where old fairy tales blend with flashy new architecture and world-class design; where warm jazz mixes with cold electronica from Copenhagen's basements. You'll feel you've seen it all in a day, but could keep on discovering more for months.

Though it is no longer a secret that the Danish capital, Copenhagen, is the perfect destination, with its beguiling blend of super-cool shops, fabulous restaurants, and world-class museums all conveniently compressed within a pretty, pedestrian-friendly heart, this fourth edition of the Time Out guide illuminates the corners of the city that other guides rarely reach. In recent years, visitors have begun to discover an alternative Copenhagen — away from the royal and historic riches of its 1,000-year-old center. Newly revitalized parts of the city like Vesterbro and Norrebro have emerged as groovy hot spots where cutting edge fashion, food, and design flourish. So, while many are lured to Copenhagen by its rich 20th-century design legacy, they are as likely to leave having sampled the best that modern Scandinavia has to offer. This comprehensive guide to Copenhagen, with color photos and maps throughout, covers every attraction, museum, and source of amusement, including new hot spots and up-and-coming neighborhoods.

From time to time workers in bogs throughout Europe accidentally expose the sunken bodies of people who died 2000 or more years ago. The bo g waters have kept the bodies from decay, sometimes even preserving the facial expression at the moment of death, and many of the bodies bear signs of violent ends. This book seeks to cast light on these Iron Age people, their lives, their religion, and the rituals they performed in unfrequented wood and groves.
