This edition covers every major aspect of pressure vessel design and provides up-to-date requirements given in ASME, ASCE, UBC, and AISC codes. The well-respected manual offers page after page of fully illustrated, step-by-step procedures. Many of the 45 design procedures have been updated and expanded to:
- Incorporate the broadest range of design cases
- Provide the maximum flexibility
- Supply more detail
- Handle a greater variety of problems -
A practical handbook, this second edition of a successful guide will prove itself valuable on a daily basis with its reliable and up-to-date facts and figures. The intent is to increase the reader's design efficiency with numerous design shortcuts, derivations of established design procedures, and new design techniques. Time-saving formulas, calculations, examples, and solutions to design problems appear throughout.

This classic book is the engineer's choice for reliable information on how to fabricate, purchase, test, and inspect pressure vessels that meet ASME code specifications. The seventh edition clearly explains how to meet performance goals and current code requirements in the most cost effective manner possible. The 1991 Department of Transportation standards for cargo tanks - which can now be built and repaired only by ASME certified manufacturers - are reported and interpreted. Procedures for becoming ASME certified are also described. This clear, straightforward guide illustrates how the code applies to each vessel component, and includes tables for calculating allowable internal pressures. Procedures for complying with ASME standards are spelled out on safety procedures for design and maintenance; inspection and quality control; welding procedures and tests; operator qualifications; non-destructive testing; fabrication and installation; and requirements for pressure vessels used in nuclear power plants.

Originating as a set of lecture notes for a piping design and analysis workshop, this comprehensive, state-of-the-art reference is the only guide of its kind in print today providing broad coverage of pipe stress and supports engineering. Full of practical 'how-to' information, the book is detailed enough for the seasoned professional, yet easy enough for the novice to understand. In it, the design criteria, codes, standards, and regulations are explained for power piping, fuel gas piping, chemical plant and refining piping, liquid petroleum transportation piping systems, refrigeration piping, gas transmission and distribution piping, building service piping, and nuclear power piping. Clear, thorough, and up-to-date, this text is required reading for all professionals and students in this rapidly changing field.

Offers coverage of design, engineering, chemical resistance, costs, standards, codes and specifications. The text provides a resistance guide that lists over 800 chemicals and nearly 400 trade names cross-referenced to formal chemical names, covering all known chemical resistance data for the most popular thermoplastic piping systems. The book covers applications, selection, installation and maintenance.

High Pressure Vessels is the only book to present timely information on high pressure vessel design for student engineers, mechanical and chemical engineers who design and build these vessels, and for chemical engineers, plant engineers and facilities managers who use them. It concentrates on design issues, giving the reader comprehensive coverage of the design aspects of the ASME High Pressure System Standard and the forthcoming ASME High Pressure Vessel Code. Coverage of the safety requirements of these new standards is included, as well as offering the reader examples and original data, a glossary of terms, SI conversions, and lists of references.

This valuable text gives previously unreported experience in the design, operation and maintenance of pressure sewers. Economic advantages of the pressure sewer system allow development of previously undeveloped areas-making central sewer extension more affordable for both municipalities and developers. Pressure systems make central sewers available where on-site disposal may prove undesirable. Of interest to a broad spectrum of professionals, this new book will prove valuable to consulting engineers, municipalities, sewer districts, sanitary engineers, pump and equipment manufacturers, and developers.

This book derives from a 3 day intensive course on Pressure Vessel Design given regularly in the UK and around the world since 1986. It is written by experts in their field and although the main thrust of the Course has been directed to BS5500, the treatment of the material is of a general nature thus providing insight into other national standards.
